BEAUTY…BUT BY WHOSE DEFINITION?
There are many elements of style, standards, and confidence…and each layer – through growth – becomes more beautiful than the one before.
THE JOURNEY IS FASCINATING
Ever since I was a little girl, I was fascinated with beauty. I would study it. Analyze it. I would become lost in a trance watching the women in my life style their hair, paint their nails, carefully apply their makeup. Each of them had a unique style, a way to create herself that was unlike another.
I would immerse myself in fashion magazines, National Geographic explorations, and the like. It never mattered the genre of the publication in front of me…there was always a treasure of style waiting to be discovered. As I would turn the pages one by one, ever so carefully as not to miss a detail, I would discover the way beauty unfolded around the world. Different cultures, religions, traditions. Women of different ethnicities, shapes, and sizes. The hair, the articles of her outfit, the makeup, the way she smiled, the depth of her eyes, the lines on her face, the way her clothing hung on her silhouette. I took in every detail as though to permanently etch the image into my mind. Each of them, in their own magnificent way, was quite beautiful. And, it fascinated me.

THE MASTERPIECE: IT'S YOU
Makeup has a seemingly magical way of expressing visually how we feel at a level that cannot be seen and sometimes…understood. Understood? Yes, indeed. Have you ever been confronted with the comment “why are you so dressed up? Why did you do your makeup today?” These are particular moments in which we felt inspired to create beauty, express ourselves and…that expression was not understood. By someone else's measure, your created presence exceeded a perceived standard. But, whose standard?
Our style, through makeup, truly is one of the many ways in which we can create ourselves every time we open our vanity full of tools. It's an art really, one that honors varying levels of skill but yet one where even the novice artist can create a masterpiece.
You, are the masterpiece.

Those moments we find ourselves feeling a bit lost in a less than desirable state, we can ignite a transformation. A simple lipstick, a single stroke of highlight across the cheek.

As beauty and confidence unfolds, it becomes a journey of self. A journey of finding your truth.

Lately, I have found myself feeling a level of confidence that I have never quite sat with before. It's a feeling of completeness, a wave of elegant simplicity, and my makeup has most definitely become a reflection of that.
The absence of bright, bold, daring colors. The shine and shimmer, the hues of pink, the depth of smoky eyes, the sharpness of contour has all taken a pause to make way for a fresh perspective.
The path needed to re-align. The vision needed to recalibrate.
A new starting point. That's it. That's what it was: a new starting point.
One which feels so aligned as we build upon it together.
With each new color waiting to be launched, it's a celebration of expansion from this gorgeous starting point.
