GREEN CHEMISTRY
Is it the new frontier of the beauty industry?
When the world of nature and science collide, magic happens. Well, in my opinion anyway. So what is “Green Chemistry?” Let's take a walk and chat about science with integrity, and filling the gaps. Or in this case, the wrinkles, pores, and imperfections.
“Green Chemistry is a method of creation applied across the entire life cycle of a chemical product – formulation, production, use, and ultimately its disposal.”
The entire topic fascinates me. A methodology to create sustainable products at the hands of woman that not only protects the environment but also our physicality. When it comes to cosmetics, we can break down ingredients into three categories: conventional (without regard to ingredient integrity or personal wellness); natural (entirely plant-based and limited in way of performance and variety); and green chemistry (nature + conscious science for sustainability and performance without compromising wellness standards.) Sound too good to be true? Well, that's the debate and it's become quite controversial and filled with opinions. Let's lean into it, and get the facts, shall we?
Can science be clean? Yes. Green Chemistry honors both Mother Nature, and you.
One such Green Chemistry “work of art” has captivated my curiosity. It is an ingredient that has been proven clean, confirmed through clinical research and testing to be entirely non-toxic, acts as an occlusive film-former on the skin, and completely reduces the appearance of fine lines, pronounced pores, and wrinkles. It leaves the skin protected from environmental factors while locking in moisture and hydration for an absolute flawless look. It is the key ingredient in some of the highest end luxury products on the market from $600 facial creams to $150 powder mineral foundations. THE CHALLENGE
I have listened to your feedback over the years and let me say…it was quite extensive. Let me also say, I understood the assignment (even though it kept me up many a night).
It was clear to me that there needed to be a collaboration of nature and science to ensure that safety, shelf life, and performance all worked synergistically without compromise or conventional preservatives.
“You want powder that doesn’t settle into fine lines, doesn’t fall from the face, doesn’t feel dry, covers like liquid, forms a barrier, breathes, feels lightweight, does not require re-application, uses minimal product, and has shelf life.”
A lofty goal. Luckily, I was committed to exceeding your expectations and I'm checking all the boxes…and then some.
Every ingredient, every step of the process, has been painstakingly considered, and I have relentlessly held my position on quality, safety, and excellence. This stance has become known as the “official in-house standard."
Over the years, opinion blogs have left consumers feeling overwhelmed in a sea of personal thoughts which always seem to fall short of actual facts. A skill I hold is to remain neutral in opinion and only use hard data combined with hands-on experience to arrive at a final decision.
My vision is that you feel absolutely confident about the beauty you choose, armed in proper awareness. This line is not an 80/20 rule of clean vs dirty. This line is about 100 / 0 truth.
Speaking of truth, I think you'll love the name of this line once I officially reveal it. Of course by now you've probably found the Easter eggs I've been leaving here and there.
